Police: Equipped Man Shot by Safety Protector Dies


Police in Seattle say an prepared man who was shot Thursday night by a safety protector in the city's essential District has died.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and the safety protector. It's unclear whether the protector will face several charges.
Police say a beginning inquiry indicates the guard tried to break up a fight involving a set of men in a business parking lot, asking the men to leave. A police spokesman says one man pulled a handgun and began waving it at the others, then pointed the gun toward the safety protector.
Police say the protector felt threatened and shot the man who had pulled the gun. The rest of the men ran off previous to officers arrived.
The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical hub.
