Safety Protector Bashing Investigation

POLICE expect the let go of CCTV images will help to recognize two men who bashed a safety protector while on a nighttime out in Goondiwindi.
Goondiwindi police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Richard McIntosh said the 25-year-old safety protector had dispossessed one of the men soon previous to 2am on March 22 after a slight fight within the Majestic Hotel.
He said an additional man followed the safety protector and the dispossessed man out of the local.
Snr Sgt McIntosh said CCTV footage showed the next man become concerned exterior the pub.
"They got him (security guard) down on the ground and kicked him in the side of the head," Snr Sgt McIntosh said.
He said the safety guard was thumped insensible for a short time.
"Both of them got up and ran off."
The security guard suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to Goondiwindi Hospital for action.
Snr Sgt McIntosh said there was in order suggesting the two men had come from New South Wales but this had not been established.
